Clinical Director, RN, BSN
After starting as Case Manager with Cura-HPC, I recently accepted my current position of Clinical Director. My current job includes overseeing patients visits made by case managers, providing quality assurance for patient charts and creating the on-call calendar for case managers. In order to stay in close contact with patient care, I still continue to manage some patient cases myself.
I come from a family of nurses: both my mother and father were LPNs. I got my Bachelors Degree in Nursing at the University of Tulsa in 2010 and have previous experience working in large hospitals in the areas of respiratory care and pulmonary cardiac care. It was while working for a large hospital that I first learned about hospice care through an in-patient hospice facility. I began working in that facility and grew to enjoy the work and care I was able to provide. In 2012, after my Mother passed, I decided it was time for me to move to a full-time hospice facility.
Through my work with hospice patients, I have learned that each patient is unique in their individual life story. I view it as a privilege and a great responsibility to be allowed to be part of that life story, especially at a crucial time in their life. The advantage of using hospice care is the team of dedicated individuals that we bring to both the individual and their family, to help them manage an important and difficult transition in all their lives.
